SOUTH HADLEY: Daniel J. Brown, age 51, of South Hadley, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Holyoke, son of Dorothy (Doyle) Brown of Holyoke and the late Thomas F. Brown, attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a 1981 graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1987. Dan worked at N&B Express, Consolidated Freightways, and for the past 10 years was a Service Center Manager for FedEx Freight. He lived in South Hadley for the past 22 years, was a third degree Knight of the Holyoke Knights of Columbus Council 90 and a communicant of St. Jerome Church. Dan was an avid golfer and a huge Patriots fan. He enjoyed summer vacations in Maine and Delaware but his favorite past times were watching Cayla Irish Step dance and spending time with family and friends. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lucinda (Duchano) Brown, a daughter Cayla E. Brown of South Hadley, two brothers, Thomas M. Brown of South Hadley, and James M. Brown of Tewksbury, five sisters, Patricia McKissick of Holyoke, widow of the late John McKissick, Marian Kirley and her husband Fran of Maryland, Dorothy St. Germain and her husband Mark of Westfield, Joan Bowen and her husband Jamie of Granby, and Christine Brown of Chicopee, Parents In-law Paul and Barbara Chambers, sister in-law Sandy Chambers, many proud nieces and nephews and countless friends. The Funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Chapel of St. Jerome Church. Burial will follow at St. Jerome Cemetery, all in Holyoke. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 – 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Oncology Department at Holyoke Medical Center.
