Walter A. Meyer, Jr. age 74, of Holyoke, entered into eternal rest on Monday March 27, 2017. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Walter A. and Margaret (Murray) Meyer, Sr., and was a 1961 graduate of Holyoke High School, then graduated from Holyoke Trade School as a Printer. Walter was employed as an offset pressman at Ampad Corp. in Holyoke, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a Life Member Knights of Columbus Council #90 in Holyoke and truly enjoyed landscaping, woodworking, and fishing. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary G. (Abel) Meyer; two cherished daughters: Christine Zdonek and her husband Daniel of Easthampton and Cathleen M. Lee and her husband Kenneth of Holyoke; a beloved son Scott Meyer and his fiancé Kimberlyn of Holyoke; the loves of his life, his six grandchildren: Kevin and Kalvin Zdonek, Sophia and Derek Lee, Aiden and Dylan Meyer; as well as a sister Jacalyn Fitzpatrick and her husband Kenneth of South Hadley; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday March 31 at 12 noon in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday from 10am to 12 noon. Our family wishes to thank the loving staff at Hospice of Western Mass. who provided support and care during this difficult time.
