Navy Emblem

Robert B. Newman, 91, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Holyoke Soldier's Home. He was born in Springfield, son of the late James and Gertrude (Jahn) Newman and graduated from Trade High School. Bob was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. He was employed as a job superintendent in the construction industry for more than 55 years. Robert was predeceased by two wives, Arlene (Farmer) Newman and Marjorie (Morris) Newman, a son Robert Newman, and a brother Edward Newman. He is survived by a son, Russell C. Newman and wife Carol of Manchester CT, two grandsons: Josh Newman and wife Melissa, and Daniel Newman and wife Melissa, all of CT, and four great grandchildren: Sam, Lilah, Kiara, and Joseph. Committal with United States Navy Honors will be held Tuesday, November 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam MA.
