HOLYOKE: Janet (Wilson) Kennedy passed away on February 25, 2017 with her family by her side. A lifelong Holyoke resident, Janet was born on September 12, 1933. She graduated from Holyoke High School followed by the Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing. Janet is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Richard H. Kennedy, and children Susan Kennedy and Richard Kennedy of Holyoke, Karen Galvin and husband John of North Attleborough, and Margo Harney and husband Jack of West Roxbury. Predeceased by her grandson Peter Rigali, Janet leaves grandchildren Anna and Christopher Rigali, Jaclyn Kidd, Katherine and Mary Kennedy, Matthew, Samantha, and Lauren Galvin, and Julia and Joseph Harney, as well as her great-granddaughter Lola Rae Richard. A private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perkins School Library at or 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472 which provides much needed and appreciated services for the blind.
