HOLYOKE: Helena Jedrzejewski, 87, of Holyoke passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home. She was born and educated in Poland and moved to the United States in 1957. Helena was a longtime parishioner of the former Mater Dolorosa Church. She was a member of the Polish Group #525, where she was an active participant in their weekly summer picnics at Pilsudski Park back in the seventies. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and outgoing spirit towards both family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Tadeusz Jedrzejewski in 1982 and her two daughters, Lucy Towle and Elizabeth Pliska. Helena is survived by two sons, Barry Jedrzejewski and his wife Kim of Richmond Hill, GA and Ted Jedrzejewski and his wife Barbara of Granby, MA; and a loving "Babci" to her 7 grandchildren, Jeffree, Sarah, John, Matthew, Susan, Laura and Diana and 3 great grandchildren, Aidan, Oliver and Aria. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Helena to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
