Florence Ann (Kurtz) Miller, 88, of Holyoke, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at her home. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Adam and Magdelena (Stonina) Kurtz and was educated in the local schools. Florence was a retired cafeteria worker for the Holyoke Public Schools, and worshipped at First Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the church choir. A lifelong resident of Holyoke, Florence enjoyed spending time at the Holyoke Senior Center. She also liked to cook and bake. She was the widow of Paul H. Miller. Florence is survived by three children: Darlene A. Butler and husband Michael of Lexington SC, Debra P. Girard and husband George of Holyoke, and Rev. Steven P. Miller and wife Jennifer of Ramah CO, three grandchildren: Lyndsey Rawl and husband Stan, Jamie Girard and Leslie Girard, two great grandchildren: Hunter and Hadley Rawl, a brother John Kurtz of Lacona NY, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by a brother, Fred Kurtz and a sister Helen Bluemer. All services will be private. Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
