Betty Anne (O'Connell) Belliveau, 87, of South Hadley, died February 19, 2017 with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Belliveau, with whom she shared almost 64 years of marriage. Born in Holyoke to Samuel and Marion (McDonald) O'Connell, she was a loving sister to Patricia (O'Connell) Hosier of Savoy, Illinois; a loving mother to the late Diane Askew and her husband, Benjamin of South Hadley, Brian Belliveau and his wife Susan of Easthampton, Lynn Belliveau and her husband Mark Dominick of Granby, and Marilee Mackertich and her husband Neal of Hopkinton. Cherished grandmother of Andrea (Askew) Malapanis and her husband Peter, Jeffrey Askew and his partner Lisa Tomaszewski, Emily Dominick, Samantha and Gregory Mackertich; and cherished great-grandmother to Zoe Malapanis. Retired from the South Hadley Library, Betty Anne was an avid reader, quilter, and gardener; she loved butterflies and angels. She was a member of the South Hadley Women's Club, St. Patrick's Ladies Guild, Friends of the South Hadley Public Library, and South Hadley Senior Center and Quilt Group. Upon graduation from Holyoke High School, she attended Pratt Institute's School of Design in Brooklyn, NY. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Friends of the South Hadley Public Library".
