HOLYOKE: Angela (LaPosta) Morgan Belisle, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2017 at her home in the love and care of her family and special caregiver, Irene Dwomoh. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Giulia (DiCintio) LaPosta and a graduate of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport. While raising her children, she pursued her lifelong dream of being a nurse by first becoming an LPN and later receiving her Associates Degree in Nursing from Holyoke Community College. She eventually held the positions of Supervisor and Director of Nurses for the Holyoke Nursing Home, Chapel Hill Nursing Home and Meadowood Nursing Home now Wingate of South Hadley. Angela was a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a member of the Holyoke Community College Alumni Council, the Friends of the Holyoke Council on Aging and the Chicopee Council on Aging, the Hampton Ponds Association and the Holyoke Jewish Seniors. She was also a docent at the Wistariahurst Museum. She was a gourmet cook and accomplished painter with a love of gardening and playing bridge. She is survived by her children, Diane R. Morgan of Granby, David J. Morgan and his companion Sally Mastaliz of Leyden, Daniel J. Morgan and his wife Lynn of Holyoke, Douglas J. Morgan of Westfield, one grandson, Geoffrey J. Morgan of Holyoke and four nieces Cindy Jackson, Patty and Dore LaPosta and Katie Heggarty. She also leaves a brother, Richard LaPosta and his wife Karen of Somers, CT and a sister, Jo Benard of South Hadley. Besides her parents, Angela was predeceased by her first husband John Wiley Morgan and her second husband, Russell L. Belisle in 2009 and a brother Francis LaPosta. The Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Holyoke VNA and Hospice.
